As the Membership Engagement Specialist, Kelly Klinger will be the primary liaison with NJCASA’S member programs by providing training, technical assistance, and leadership in engagement strategies. In her role with the Coalition, Kelly envisions a space where member programs and NJCASA can foster relationships and strengthen a collaborative working environment. She will also aid in the implementation of best practices at other direct service providers, identify trends and needs, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategies of sound practices and approaches. Passionate about victim advocacy, she seeks to elevate the voices of survivors by continuing networking with member programs, hospitals, court, law enforcement offices, and allied community members.
Kelly spent her career working in the domestic violence and sexual assault community in New Jersey and Washington, DC. She worked extensively in direct services as a victim-witness advocate and as a counselor for the underrepresented populations (e.g., LGBTQIA+, Males, Elderly). She also participated in the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) on-call, providing medical accompaniment and crisis intervention for survivors at hospitals, court, and police stations. Before joining NJCASA, Kelly worked with the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Kelly received her master’s degree from Montclair State University in Child Advocacy and Policy, as well as a dual bachelor’s in Child Advocacy and Policy and in Psychology.
