Devin Rojas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas, and a Masters of Social Work from Boston University. Devin has spent her career as an advocate for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, focusing on developing systems that have been historically challenging for survivors to navigate. Devin’s experience as a survivor of dating and sexual violence taught her the many ways institutions intended to help often fail to do just that for many survivors. She has committed her career to developing these institutions to be safe, accessible, and responsive for all survivors. Devin advocated on behalf of survivors within the San Antonio Police Department, the US Army, and the New Jersey Department of Child Protection and Permanency where she learned invaluable strategies for transforming survivor experiences in navigating a variety of systems.

As a Capacity Building Specialist with NJCASA, Devin provides support to the 21 county-based sexual violence programs and Rutgers New Brunswick Office of Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance in supporting the needs of all survivors, and specifically of survivors from historically marginalized and oppressed communities. Devin is humbled and grateful to be a small part of a movement dedicated to ensuring all people experience the support and care they need in the aftermath of violence, and to dismantling the very systems that work to uphold violence and oppression in all of its forms.
