Bergen County
S.O.A.R. Surivors of Sexual Abuse and Rape Support Group
SOAR is an on-going, therapist-facilitated support group for adult, female survivors of sexual assault. The group setting provides a safe place for women to come together and begin to heal following the trauma of rape. Through sharing of their experiences, the women discover they are not alone in their emotional pain. Acceptance, support, and validation form the foundation of this group. This is a Free and Confidential Support Group.
The Men's Group: YWCA Rape Crisis Center Offers Men’s Support Group
The YWCA of Bergen County Rape Crisis Center is pleased to announce the Men's Support Group for survivors of sexual violence . This weekly 12- session group will be a forum for male survivors to discuss such topics such as trauma, emotions & self esteem, anger, coping mechanisms, relationships and much more. Groups will be held in Bergen County by a professional facilitator.

Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse Support Group
Each group is limited to 10 persons on a first come first serve basis. Group is free and confidential. Groups are held in Edison. Call between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday to arrange an intake appointment to ensure the group is appropriate for your needs.

Sexual Assault Survivor Support Group
Starting Wednesday, May 2nd 2012
This free and confidential Sexual Assault Support Group is intended for adult female survivors of sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and/or incest. This will be an 8-week group, and will be limited to 10 people on a first-come, first-serve basis. Passiac County Women's Center staff will facilitate the group.
The group provides a welcoming, safe environment for survivors to share their experiences, practice coping skills, and help each other along the healing journey. This group is offered several times throughout the year. Please call for more information.

“Surviving to Thriving” Sexual Violence Strength Identification & Coping Skills Group
This group setting provides a safe place for survivors of sexual violence to come together and begin the healing process. This group is 16 weeks long and encourages a commitment and participation. The group lessons will be based on Marsha Linehan’s Dialectical Behavior Therapy, providing skills and tools to help individuals better understand emotions and manage interpersonal relationships effectively.
The eligibility requirements for this group are as follows:
- 18 years old +
- Survivor of sexual violence
- Expressed desire to manage emotions in life more effectively
- Willingness to commit to 16 week program
