What’s happening with NJCASA’s logo this month? We’re so glad you asked!

This year’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) theme is It’s Time to Act.  Safer Campuses. Brighter Futures. Campus sexual assault has (rightfully) become a topic of conversation on a state and national stage – and we are committed to particpating in and furthering productive dialogue.

One of the ways NJCASA is showing our SAAM pride is in our logo design for month of April:

The mortarboard cap is NJCASA’s way of standing alongside student activitists and survivors – on graduation day and everyday – and vowing to work intentionally to elevate their voices as we engage in this important work.  The addition to our logo is also our way of idenitfying ourselves as an ally and resource to institutions seeking information and accurate, survivor-centered, and trauma-informed approaches to addressing campus sexual assault.

NJCASA is working with dedicated professionals from campus communities statewide with the hope that SAAM’s resources and awareness campaign will guide ongoing projects and attention.  Our 5th Annual SAAM 5K will bring together sexual violence programs, campus communities, and supporters throughout the state.  Through the month of April, we will highlight the different voices that take part in creating safer spaces for all communities on our blog. NJCASA will also celebrate Denim Day with vocal and passionate supporters of the Coalition’s work and the dedicated individuals serving survivors.

NJCASA is proud to support campus communities in New Jersey as they strengthen responses to survivors on campuses and promote primary prevention efforts.
